Kenny Wayne Shepherd has lived more than half of his life in the spotlight. At the age of at 16, he was signed to a major record label. While a senior in high school, he recorded his first album and while most of his classmates were looking for a part time summer job after graduation, Kenny was embarking on a world tour. June 18, 2009 -Arts Midwest Grant Brings Native American Music and Dance to The Whiting & Local Schools
The Whiting, a member organization of The Flint Cultural Center Corporation (FCCC), has received a $5,000 grant award from the Arts Midwest Performing Arts Fund that will help to bring the renowned Kevin Locke Native Dance Ensemble to Flint for a five-day residency November 2 – 6, 2009.
